Report: Packers Close To Making Rodgers Highest-Paid Player In NFL History
(CBS) Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is on the verge of becoming a wealthy man - perhaps the wealthiest man the NFL has ever seen.
According to a report, the Packers and Rodgers are nearing a deal that would make the 29-year-old quarterback the highest-paid player in NFL history.
The report indicates Rodgers could earn $25 million per season, exceeding the six-year, $120.6 million contract the Ravens and Joe Flacco agreed to earlier this month.
Rodgers is currently playing under a six-year, $65 million deal that runs through the 2014 season.
The quarterback is set to earn $9.25 million in 2013 and $10.5 million in 2014.
