Gun Scare At Winnetka School A 'False Alarm'
WINNETKA, Ill. (STMW) - A Monday report of a person with a gun at a North Shore school was a "false alarm," the school said.
Winnetka police were notified about 5 p.m. of a potential hostage situation in the Carleston Washburne School District Office, according to a statement on the school's website.

A Winnetka police officer confirmed police were called to investigate a report of a person with a gun near the school at 515 Hibbard Rd. in Winnetka, but said the report was not bonafide. The school confirmed the report was a "false alarm."
Police secured all schools in the district and brought in neighboring police departments to complete a thorough search, but at no point were any students of staff in danger, the school said.
