Report: NCAA To Announce 'Unprecedented' Penalties Against Penn State
(CBS) The NCAA will announce "unprecedented" penalties against both the Penn State football team and the university, according to a CBS News report.
"I've never seen anything like it," a high-ranking NCAA source told the news outlet.
The announcement will be made Monday morning at 8 a.m. CT. at NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, according to the report.
The penalties come in response to a report by former FBI director Louis Freeh that concluded four top PSU officials, including former football coach Joe Paterno, covered up allegations of child sex abuse against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.
The NCAA has been waiting for the school's response to four key questions it asked the university in a letter last November. It's unclear whether the association has received that response.
