Report: Mariano Rivera To Retire After This Season
(CBS) Mariano Rivera will hold a press conference Saturday announcing his plans to retire at the end of the season, according to the New York Post.
The press conference will be head at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Fla. at 10 a.m. ET Saturday, the report says.
Rivera contemplated retirement last year, according to the Post, but after he injured his knee, he vowed not to end his career that way.
The report indicates Rivera "has been fickle in the past about his retirement and that there was always a chance he could back out."
Rivera is baseball's all-time leading saves leader with 608.
