Maggie Daley Hospitalized

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago's first lady Maggie Daley reportedly was hospitalized Saturday morning at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Daley, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2002, was admitted to Northwestern on Saturday after suffering pain in her right leg. That is the same leg that was reinforced with a metal rod last year, a few months after her cancer spread to the leg.
"After experiencing some pain in her leg, she's resting comfortably and awaiting test results," Ald. Rey Colon (35th) said at an Earth Day event in Humboldt Park, where he filled in for the mayor. He said the mayor was at his wife's side at the hospital.
The mayor canceled a number of public appearances for the day to be with his wife at the hospital.

Northwestern officials would not discuss Mrs. Daley's condition, but sources said she was expected to remain in the hospital for a few days. The mayor was not expected to make any public statements on Saturday.
Mrs. Daley was at a fundraiser at the Art Institute on Friday with the mayor, where the two were honored for their service to the city. The event raised money for an Art Institute program for school children that will bear the names of the mayor and his wife.
CBS 2's Bill Kurtis attended the fundraiser and said Maggie Daley "looked terrific, as always."
"She looked strong and was not tired; rose to the occasion, laughed and was enjoying her family and friends," Kurtis said. "In the past, she has not gone to a lot of these, but now these are all special occasions."
Maggie Daley was first diagnosed with cancer in 2002 and in July 2006, she had surgery to remove a tumor from her right breast.
In December 2009, she underwent treatment for a cancerous lesion on her lower right leg. The treatment forced her to use a wheelchair for a time.
In March 2010, doctors inserted a titanium rod in her leg to reduce the chance of microfractures that could result from weakened bones.
