'Macho Man' Savage Dies In Car Accident

CHICAGO (CBS) Pro wrestler Randy 'Macho Man' Savage died Friday morning in a car accident in Tampa, Florida.
The Florida Highway Patrol says in a crash report that the 58-year-old former wrestler - whose legal name is Randy Mario Poffo - was driving a Jeep Wrangler when he lost control in Pinellas County around 9:25 a.m.
According to the report, Savage's 2009 Jeep Wrangler cut across a concrete median, past oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a tree.
Police say he may have suffered a "medical event" before the accident, but the report did not elaborate, and it said officials would need to perform an autopsy to know for sure.
Lanny Poffo, Savage's brother, told TMZ.com that Savage suffered a heart attack while driving.
The police report confirms that there was woman in the vehicle who suffered minor injuries. TMZ has reported that woman was Savage's wife, Lynn. The TMZ report also says that alcohol was not a factor and that both Savage and his wife were wearing seat belts.
Savage was also well known as a spokesman for Slim Jims. And in an eerie coincidence, ConAgra Foods, the maker of Slim Jims, shut down production on the product on Friday.
