Kyle Fuller Breaks Hand, Suffers Hip Pointer
(CBS) Injury has now been added to insult for the Bears on an ugly Sunday that saw them fall to 3-4 with a 27-14 home loss to the Dolphins.
Rookie cornerback Kyle Fuller broke his right hand and suffered a right hip pointer in the loss. CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported it Sunday evening, and Fuller confirmed the two injuries in an interview with K-Hits Chicago on Monday morning. There was no timetable given or reported for how long Fuller may be out, and he said he'll know more later Monday on the extent of the injuries.
Fuller had been arguably Chicago's best defensive player, entering Sunday tied for the NFL lead in interceptions (three) and forced fumbles (three). He took over as the starting cornerback after veteran Charles Tillman suffered a season-ending triceps injury in Week 2.
Sherrick McManis filled in for Fuller after the latter left Sunday's game in the third quarter. This is just the latest in a long line of injuries for the Bears defense, which was also without safety Chris Conte and linebackers Lance Briggs and Jon Bostic on Sunday.
