Report: Kobe Bryant To Play Just Two More Seasons
(WSCR) If Kobe Bryant wants to reach his elusive sixth NBA Championship, tying him with Michael Jordan, he'll reportedly have just two seasons to do so.
According to a report from CBSSports.com, Bryant plans to retire after the 2013-14 season.
"It's not about health necessarily," Bryant told CBSSports.com. "It's about, 'Do I want to do it? Do I have that hunger to continue to prepare at a high level?'"
The 34-year-old Bryant is entering his 17th NBA season. He's coming off a season in which his average of 27.9 points per game. His contract runs out after the 2013-14 season.
"It's just that three more years seems like a really long time to continue to stay at a high, high level of training and preparation and health," he said in the interview. "That's a lot of years. For a guard? That's a lot of years."
