Report: Knicks Meeting Anthony Today As Well
(CBS) Carmelo Anthony's free agent tour is moving at warp speed.
A day after he visited both the Rockets and Mavericks and two days after he visited the Bulls, Anthony is meeting today with the Lakers, as previously scheduled, and in the most recent development, he meet with the Knicks as well, ESPN.com reported. Both meetings are taking place in Los Angeles, where Anthony has a home, as does Knicks president Phil Jackson.
Kobe Bryant was originally scheduled to join the Lakers' meeting with Anthony, but it now appears he won't be there because the meeting was moved up and Bryant is still traveling into the country after taking a vacation, ESPN.com reported.
Most reports suggest the race for Anthony's talents is between the Knicks and Bulls. Both teams are reportedly confident in their standing as well, though New York is considered the favorite by the majority because it can offer Anthony the most money. The Knicks can offer a five-year, $129-million contract, while other teams can offer him a four-year, $96-million deal.
Anthony is moving quickly in this big decision, and several reports Thursday afternoon indicated that he'll decide by weekend's end.
