Drug Charges Against J'Marcus Webb Dropped
(CBS) - A prosecutor has dropped drug charges against Bears offensive lineman J'Marcus Webb.
CBS affiliate KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Mo., who first broke the arrest, reports Webb was arrested in Pulaski County on Sunday evening and charged with possession of controlled substance, cannabis and paraphernalia.
Based on a tweet from Webb Wednesday afternoon, it appears the left tackle was on his way to Texas to train.
In the wake of Webb's arrest, the Bears released the following statement:
"We are aware of the recent arrest of J'Marcus Webb in Pulaski County, Illinois. We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the arrest."
Pulaski County Sheriff Randy Kern said Webb was released on bond on Monday.
Webb, 24, is entering his fourth season with the Bears. He has started all 16 games in each of the last two seasons.
