Report: Jay Cutler's Groin Injury 'Could Be Bad'

(CBS) -- The NFL Network's Mike Silver reports that two Bears sources told him Jay Cutler's groin injury "Could be bad."

Cutler suffered a groin injury and left Sunday's game against the Redskins after being sacked in the second quarter and didn't return.

He was tackled by Redskins defensive lineman Chris Baker on the play. He rolled over Baker as he was being tackled and stayed down. Players from both teams were seen immediately signaling for the trainers.

Cutler is set to have an MRI Monday.

Cutler walked off the field gingerly on his own power and was escorted straight to the locker room. 670 The Score's Zach Zaidman reported on WBBM Newsradio 780′s broadcast that Cutler underwent x-rays.

Backup quarterback Josh McCown relieved Cutler in the game.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and Field Yates report that the Bears will re-sign QB Jordan Palmer.
