Report: Inspector General Failed To Investigate Deaths Of Disabled Citizens
CHICAGO (CBS) - An Illinois agency is taking a second look at why the Inspector General's office reportedly failed to investigate the deaths of some disabled citizens.
A published report cited 53 cases in which the Inspector General's office did not probe claims of abuse and neglect in disabled individuals who later died.

Based on the investigation by the Belleville News-Democrat -- the Department of Human Services says it is 're-evaluating the Inspector General office's role.'
The newspaper says the reason given for not investigating was that the dead weren't eligible for services.
