Report: High-Ranking Circuit Court Clerk's Employee Tied To Gang
MAYWOOD, Ill. (CBS) -- Just a couple of weeks before Election Day, Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown is trying to figure out what to do about a long-time employee of the clerk's office who is an alleged gang leader.
As WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports, the Chicago Crime Commission's Gang Book names Maurice Henderson as the leader of the Imperial Insane Vice Lords street gang, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday morning.

Henderson serves as the Circuit Court clerk at the Maybrook Courthouse in Maywood, and the Sun-Times reports he has access to sensitive documents such as search warrants, arrest warrants and applications for wiretaps.
Riverside Police Chief Tom Weitezel, the head of the West Suburban Chiefs of Police Association, tells the Sun-Times' Kim Janssen it is "outrageous" that a reputed gang member has found his way into such a powerful position.
The paper reports it is believed that confidential information has been leaked from the Maybrook Courthouse for some time.
Henderson, 46, has worked for Cook County since 1998. He admits he knows gang members, and even has a tattoo of the Imperial Insanes' cane and star symbol, the Sun-Times reports.
But he said he was 13 years old, while he now has a family and a career, the Sun-Times reported. He insists to the newspaper that he is not in a gang.
