Hawks Agree To Two-Year Deal With Nick Leddy
(CBS) -- The Chicago Blackhawks have signed defenseman Nick Leddy to a two-year contract, according to a team release. The terms of the contract are not yet known.
The 22 year-old defenseman was a restricted free agent and had six goals and 12 assists during the regular season.
"We are pleased to announce that Nick will remain a core member of our organization," said Vice President/General Manager Stan Bowman. "Over the course of the past three seasons, Nick has shown continuous development and we think he will be essential to our long-term success."
Leddy was originally selected by the Minnesota Wild in the first round (16th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and was traded to the Hawks in 2010 in exchange for Cam Barker.
"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to remain in Chicago and be a part of this special group of young, experienced players on a team in a winning environment," said Leddy. "The organization is first class both on and off the ice, and I am honored to be a member of the Chicago Blackhawks."
