Report: Flowers To Have Shoulder Surgery, Out 3-6 Months
(CBS) -- Tyler Flowers will have exploratory shoulder surgery and could be out for three-to-six months, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune.
Sox Manager Robin Ventura told the Tribune Flowers has been carrying the injury for about the last month and bothered him when he threw.
"He's at the point where he just feels like he needs to get something done," Ventura said. "You could notice when he couldn't get anything on a throw to second as much as he had earlier in the year."
Flowers hit .195 with 10 home runs and 24 RBIs in 84 games this season. Triple A Charlotte catcher Bryan Anderson was called up Sunday.
