Report: Emanuel's Victory More Lopsided Than It Appeared
CHICAGO (WBBM/CBS) -- An in-depth look at numbers from last month's mayoral election indicates Rahm Emanuel's victory was even more one-sided than it may have appeared.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Bernie Tafoya reports, Mayor-elect Emanuel pulled in 55 percent of the vote last month – more than enough to escape a runoff election.

But an analysis by the Chicago Sun-Times indicates that Emanuel more than trounced his three main rivals.
The analysis indicates that Emanuel won nearly 82 percent of the city's voter precincts, or more than 2,106 of the 2,570 precincts.
By comparison, Gery Chico won just under 16 percent of the precincts, Miguel Del Valle 2 percent, and Carol Moseley Braun 0.03 percent – or just one precinct.
Emanuel also won nearly every majority-black precinct, even though Braun was named the consensus African-American candidate, the Sun-Times reported.
The Sun-Times analysis shows that Emanuel won the entire North Side, most of the Northwest Side and West sides, the downtown area, the south lakefront, and the vast majority of the South Side.
Chico won precincts largely on the Far Northwest Side, including the Edison Park and O'Hare neighborhoods and parts of the Edgebrook neighborhood; the much of the Southwest Side, from Brighton Park to the Midway Airport area; the Mount Greenwood neighborhood on the Far South Side, and the Hegewisch and South Deering neighborhoods on the Far Southeast Side, according to the analysis.
Del Valle largely won a handful of precincts in and around the Humboldt Park neighborhood, where Braun's sole victorious precinct is located along 43rd Street immediately west of the Dan Ryan Expressway, according to the analysis.
