Report: Duke's Collins Would Listen To Illinois
(WSCR) With Bruce Weber's Illinois tenure in the rear-view mirror, multiple names have begun to surface as a potential replacement.
One of those names has been Duke assistant Chris Collins, who said he would listen if the Illinois job presented itself.
"I always pick up the phone," Collins told the Tribune. "I've always been taught you never shut down any opportunities."
The 37-year-old longtime assistant coach is from Northbrook, Ill., so a trip home might be welcomed.
"Chicago is my home, I love Illinois, I have a lot of friends there," he said. "Certainly a program like (Illinois) is a great program and has had a lot of success, has a lot of potential. There's no question I would definitely listen."
