Report: Cutler To Organize Workouts For Offense

CHICAGO (CBS) The NFL's lockout has been going on for roughly two months. While the legal teams for both sides continue to battle at the negotiating table and in the court room, the players must still get ready to play a season.

Quarterbacks Drew Brees and Matt Ryan have already led their respective teams in player-organized workouts, and it looks as if Jay Cutler could be doing the same for the Chicago Bears.

"Now is the time for everyone to kind of get together and brush it off, and we're going to do that here in the next couple of weeks," Cutler told the Chicago Sun-Times. "Everything is locked and loaded."

While the Saints and Falcons had members of the media on hand for their workouts, the Bears will likely keep things a little quieter, although no exact date has been set.

"We're about to do something here soon enough," Cutler told the Sun-times. "But no one is probably going to know about it."

Cutler's workouts will likely be only for offensive players, so that they can focus on working on their specific areas for improvement.

"I mean, those defenders have been in the system for eight years, nine years," Cutler told the newspaper. "What are they gonna do?

"What am I going to tell Lach?" Cutler said, referring to Brian Urlacher. "'Your drop is a little short. Sorry, buddy.' Offensively, we have a lot of room to improve."

Cutler also told the Sun-Times that the knee he sprained in the NFC Championship game is "good to go."
