Report: Charles Tillman Is Visiting The Panthers
(CBS) Free agent cornerback Charles Tillman, who spent the first 12 seasons of his career in Chicago, was in Charlotte on Wednesday to visit with the Panthers, ESPN reported.
The Bears have shown no signs of wanting to re-sign the 34-year-old Tillman. Carolina is coached by Ron Rivera, who coached Tillman from 2004-'06 as Chicago's defensive coordinator.
Tillman played in just two games for the Bears in 2014 because of a torn triceps. He was limited to eight games the prior season because of injury, and under the direction of new general manager Ryan Pace, the Bears have expressed a desire to get younger and build through the draft.
Tillman is a two-time Pro Bowler whose 36 interceptions rank third in Bears franchise history.
The Bears have already signed 30-year-old cornerback Alan Ball in free agency this offseason.
