Report: Bulls 'In Hunt' For Danny Granger
(CBS) Many are expecting that Danny Granger's contract will be bought out by the Philadelphia 76ers following his recent trade from the Pacers, meaning a talented-if-still-slowed-by-injury wing will be on the open market to sign with playoff contenders. If that becomes the case, the Bulls will be "in (the) hunt," TNT's David Aldridge reported, with a handful of other teams.

Though he hasn't rounded into top form since returning from injury earlier this season -- he's averaging 8.3 points -- the 30-year-old Granger would certainly be a help to a Bulls team that is last in the NBA in scoring. For his career, he's averaged 17.6 points and is a 38 percent 3-point shooter.
Still, a potential pursuit of Granger is a fickle and uncertain situation for Chicago, which is currently projected to be just under the luxury tax threshold. The Bulls don't want to go above it and to that end have been cycling players in and out on 10-day contracts while going through periods with a 12-man roster. It's unclear when the Bulls may feel completely comfortable signing a 13th player to a pro-rated veteran's minimum contract for the rest of the season, the Chicago Tribune reported.
There's also the possibility that interested suitors start a bidding war, raising the price of Granger past what the Bulls are willing to spend.
