Report: Bowles Gets Second Interview With Jets, Falcons
(CBS) Bears general manager Ryan Pace's first order of business was to interview Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles for the team's head coaching vacancy.
If the Bears are interested in securing Bowles' services, they may have to move fast. Bowles is a hot commodity who will be getting a second interview with the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons per a report from NFL.com's media insider Ian Rapoport.
Bowles has previous head coaching experience. He served as the Dolphins interim head coach for three games in 2011 after Tony Sparano was fired, finishing with a 2-1 record.
Over the past two seasons, Bowles has turned Arizona's defense into one of the league's best. In 2013, the Cardinals finished the season as No. 1 against the run (84 yards per game), sixth in sacks (47) and points allowed (20.3).
In 2014, the Cardinals finished fifth in points allowed (18.7) and were the first team to hold Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray under 100 yards.
Last November, the Cardinals extended Bowles contract through the 2017 season.
