Report: Blackhawks' Haviland To Interview For Winnipeg Job
CHICAGO (CBS) Winnipeg's new NHL franchise could be getting even more of a Blackhawks feel than it already does.
According to a report by the Winnipeg Free Press, Blackhawks assistant coach Mike Haviland will interview for the head coaching position.
If given the job, Haviland would be coaching former Blackhawks players Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd, while working under former Blackhawks assistant general manager, and recently hired Winnipeg G.M., Kevin Cheveldayoff.
Other candidates for the job, according to the report, are Manitoba Moose coach Claude Noel, former Edmonton Oilers coach and TSN hockey analyst Craig MacTavish and Craig Ramsay, the head coach last season when the team was located in Atlanta.
