Report: Bears' Slauson Rehabbing From Shoulder Surgery
(CBS) Bears left guard Matt Slauson missed the team's first OTA on Tuesday with an injury, which he didn't speak about but what has been reported by the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs as a right shoulder issue.
The 28-year-old Slauson had a partial labrum tear, Biggs reported, and though he could've played this year with the injury, the sides determined it was best to have shoulder surgery. Because of that, Slauson is expected to sit out until training camp, which starts in July.
The Bears signed Slauson to a four-year, $12.8-million contract shortly after the end of last season after he started all 16 games. Slauson has started 64 consecutive games going back to his Jets tenure, according to Biggs.
