Bears Reportedly Interested In LT Jake Long
(CBS) According to a report from the Sun-Times' Sean Jensen, the Bears have interest in free-agent tackle Jake Long.
Jensen cites a source who claims the Bears have "real" interest, but a deal could be a long way away, as Long has some injury concerns and is looking to make between $11-12 million per season.
Long, 27 and a former No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, has been selected to four Pro Bowls in five seasons with the Dolphins.
Though Long has started 74 games in five seasons, he appears to be a bit of a questions mark as he missed the final four games of 2012 with a torn triceps. He also missed the final two games in 2011 with a torn biceps muscle.
According to a ranking from Pro Football Focus, Long ranked 47th out of 75 tackles last season. In 2011, he ranked 21st but second in 2010 and second in 2009.
