Report: Bears Holding Tryout For Kickers
(WSCR) With Robbie Gould's status for Sunday's game uncertain, the Bears will work out new kickers this week.
According to a report from the Tribune, the Bears are expected to have a three-man tryout at Halas Hall.
Gould suffered a left calf muscle injury while warming up for Sunday's game. Punter Adam Podlesh replaced the injured Gould on two kickoffs. Gould also made two extra points but did not attempt a field goal.
During his press conference Monday, head coach Lovie Smith hinted at the Bears holding tryouts for kickers.
"I'll just say if there's a player that I just mentioned on the injury list that didn't finish the game or had some type of problem during it we're always looking," Smith said. "We'll keep all those options open."
