Bears Cut Palmer, Reynaud, Senn
(CBS) -- The Chicago Bears have cut quarterback Jordan Palmer, they announced Sunday evening.
Palmer, 30, was with the Bears for 10 games last season, but he didn't attempt a pass. In three preseason games, Palmer threw for 225 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Palmer's departure means that former Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen will serve as the backup to Jay Cutler. Clausen has thrown for 280 yards, two touchdowns and one interception this preseason.
In other moves, Chicago also cut return man Darius Reynaud and linebacker/special teamer Jordan Senn.
The Bears' roster now stands at 78 players. It needs to be down to 75 by Tuesday afternoon.
