Report: Bears Cut DT Anthony Adams
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A published report says the Bears have cut defensive tackle Anthony Adams, after a season in which he only started in four games.
Adams was signed to a new $4.5 million, two-year contract after the lockout ended last year. He played in 11 games, but only started in four, having been passed up by rookie defensive tackle Stephen Paea, and veteran Matt Toeania, the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs reported.
The Bears first picked up Adams, 31, as a free agent in 2007, and he was set to earn a base salary of $1.8 million for the coming season this year, the Tribune reported.
Without Adams, the Bears plan to re-sign Amobi Okoye for the other defensive tackle position, and ready Jonathan Miller, an undrafted free agent, for play, the newspaper reported.
