Reinsdorf To Receive Award For Charity Work

CHICAGO (CBS) White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf will be rewarded for his work in the community, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Reinsdorf is set to receive the 39th annual Jefferson Award, which recognizes the "Greatest Public Service Benefitting the Disadvantaged."

The chairman will be presented with the award Tuesday at a gala in Washington D.C. He has long been involved with charity work involving both Major League Baseball and the Chicago White Sox.

White Sox Charities has donated more than $16.5 million to programs in the Chicago area since it was started in 1990.
