Reinsdorf On Trading Sale: Only Jordan Was Untouchable
(CBS) The idea of trading left-handed ace Chris Sale may not sit well with some White Sox fans, but the team's Chairman wouldn't rule out a possible deal.
Speaking at the Winter Meetings in Florida, Jerry Reinsdorf said that trading the 24-year-old Sale wasn't an impossibility.
"I only had one player in my 33 years of sports that couldn't be traded, and he wore number 23, and 45 when he played baseball," Reinsdorf, also the Bulls chairman, said of Michael Jordan. "I've never had another player that couldn't be traded, so I can't tell you that when I see (general manager Rick Hahn and executive vice president Kenny Williams) today that they don't tell me they want to trade him, but I'd be very surprised."
In four seasons with the White Sox, Sale, a two-time All-Star, has a 2.97 ERA.
