Reinsdorf 'Heartbroken' After Hearing About Rose Injury
(CBS) -- Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf says in a statement that he was 'heartbroken' when he heard that Derrick Rose would be out for the entire season after surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
"Like Bulls fans everywhere, I was heartbroken when I heard of Derrick's injury," Reinsdorf said. "Everyone at the Bulls knows firsthand how extremely hard Derrick worked to return to the court this year, and I have no doubt he will do the same with regards to his recovery from this injury."
Reinsdorf also said that he still believes the Bulls are a good team without Rose.
"Despite Derrick's absence, this is still a good team. I know from last year, this team and coaching staff will continue to make our fans proud."
