Reinsdorf: Bulls Can Win 'Four Championships'
For the most part, the Chicago Bulls are the surprise team in the NBA this year. While they were expected to be good, not even fans here in Chicago expected them to be this good.
But if the owner is right, this could only be the beginning.
''If you don't see something special in Derrick Rose, then you're blind,'' Bulls' owner Jerry Reinsdorf told the Chicago Sun-Times. ''We have an outstanding coach, an outstanding bunch of players, the team is deep, and if we stay healthy, we have an awfully good chance of winning at least four championships.''
That's a pretty bold statement by the Bulls' owner, but it might be pretty accurate. Rose is turning in an MVP-caliber season, and he's only 22 years old. If his current pace continues, he could join an elite group of NBA players to average 24 points and eight assist per game over the course of a season.
But Rose isn't the only young player contributing for the Bulls, the average age of a Bulls' player is 27.8 years old, and among their starters it's only 26.4 years old.
With young players like Rose and Joakim Noah accompanied by established players like Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng, there's no reason to think why this team can't live up to their owner's expectations.
