Police: Red Line Rerouted To Loop When Naked Man Gets On Train
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Red Line service was rerouted to the Loop 'L' Sunday evening after a man got on a train naked on the Near North Side.
The Chicago Transit Authority initially said the reroute was for a person was on the tracks near the Clark/Division stop. But police said they were called at 5:20 p.m. for a naked man who got onto a train.
He was not actually on the tracks, police said.
The naked man somehow got off the train and was never found, police said.
Red Line trains were halted at the scene, and trains were subsequently rerouted to the elevated tracks between the Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown stops during the early evening hours, according to the Chicago Transit Authority.
No trains were evacuated.
By 7 p.m., the Red Line was back to running in the subway under Clybourn Avenue and Division and State streets, the CTA said.
