Red Cross Seeking Blood Donations In Case Of Shortage During Possible Coronavirus Outbreak
CHICAGO (CBS)-- The Red Cross is asking the public to donate blood in case there's a shortage during a coronavirus outbreak.
The Red Cross will now ask staff and donors to use hand sanitizer before going into a blood drive.
The organization will also make sure equipment is disinfected and that staff changes gloves more often.
Also, if donors have traveled to high risk areas, officials are asking them to wait 28 days to donate blood.
