Red, Blue Line Delays Expected This Week
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Late night Red and Blue Line riders should allow extra travel time this week as construction is expected to cause minor delays.
Red Line trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the 95th Street and 79th Street stations from 10:30 p.m. Tuesday until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday while crews perform maintenance work, according to the CTA's webstie. The work will continue at the same times the following two nights, ending early Friday.
As a result, passengers must board and exit trains on the 95th Street-bound side of the platform at the 87th Street station, the CTA said.
On the Blue Line, trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Jefferson Park and Harlem stations from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday while crews perform track work, the CTA said. The work will continue during the same time the following day.
Delays are expected during this time, but no boarding changes are expected.
Minor delays are expected, and the CTA advises passengers to allow extra travel time.
