(CBS) The NCAA gave Ohio State a one-year postseason ban Tuesday and took away four scholarships, while adding an extra year of probation.
Ohio State had already self-imposed a two-year probation period and taken away five scholarships.
In addition, former head coach Jim Tressel was given a five-year show cause penalty, meaning if a school hires him, they could be subject to sanctions.
The Buckeyes will not appeal and will not be eligible for a bowl game or the Big Ten Championship Game next season.
