Rash Of Robberies Reported Near Green Line On West Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are warning of a rash of armed robberies targeting CTA Green Line 'L' riders in the South Austin neighborhood.
As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, police say several armed robberies have been reported along the 'L' line, which over and near Lake Street. All of them have happened during daylight hours.

"You can't ever sleep out here in this city," said one Green Line rider. "You have to stay focused."
Police say the robberies have involved up to four black male offenders, but no more detailed description has been provided.
The victims have been approached by one to four men while they are riding, exiting or walking home from the Green Line or waiting at a bus stop.
The robbers strike their victims with their fists or they have pulled handguns and demanded purses, wallets, money, jewelry, laptop computers and cell phones.
Police have not said how many robberies have been reported, or exactly where they took place.
