Ramirez Named American League Player Of The Week
CHICAGO (WSCR) Chicago White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez has been named the American League Player of the Week for the week ending on May 22.
The 29-year old had a .417 batting average (10-for-24) with six doubles, nine runs batted in and a home run. Ramirez led the American League in RBI, while coming in second for slugging percentage (.792) and fifth in on-base percentage (.481).
His best game of the week came on the week's final day, when he posted five RBI and four hits in an 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This is the first Player of the Week honor that Ramirez has received.
