CHICAGO (WBBM) - Potential mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel toured a west side factory Monday afternoon and he spoke about what he would do to help close the city's 650 million dollar budget deficit.
Newsradio 780's Mary Frances Bragiel reports Rahm Emanuel says at this point he has come up with 5 million dollars in city savings. His plan includes consolidating inspections and reducing overhead in economic development programs. He stopped short of suggesting a possible tax increase.

Meantime, Danny Davis is inching closer to announcing a run for mayor after a prominent group of African Americans came forward this weekend, backing the Illinois Congressman.
Emanuel did admit that he spoke to Davis about a month, but won't confirm that he was about Davis not entering the race. Instead Emanuel says the conversation was about their mutual love for the city.
