Rags, The Stevenson Expressway Dog, To Be Adopted
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Rags, the little white dog that managed to avoid cars on the Stevenson Expressway for more than an hour a week ago, is getting a home on Thursday.
Because Rags, in his anxiety, nipped a few people on the roadway who were trying to spirit him out of harm's way, he has been quarantined until Thursday at the Pulaski Animal Hospital, just to be sure he's healthy.
But office manager Cheryl Muth said Rags is apparently very healthy.

She said they've heard from a lot of people interested in adopting Rags.
"Well over 200. ... Our phone started ringing off the hook last Tuesday, and then on Wednesday the story went national and the emails were just (pouring) in," she said.
But she said they decided Rags would go to the office's newest veterinarian, Dr. Stan Kalata, who was a veterinarian in Poland and came here 10 years ago, became a technician, then earned his veterinary credentials here.
"What better home could the dog have than with the person who first treated him when he came here?" Muth said.
Rags' new name will be Reksio, the name of a Polish cartoon character.
