Radio Shack Thieves Make Off With 'Large Amount' Of Electronics, Cash
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are seeking two assailants who held up a Radio Shack at gunpoint Sunday morning in the Wicker Park neighborhood.
About 10:30 a.m. two males came into the Radio Shack at 1273 N. Milwaukee Ave. wearing black ski masks and one was armed with a .38 caliber handgun, according to a Shakespeare District police lieutenant. Both wore gloves.
They ordered two employees into a bathroom and told them to stay there until they left. They did not lock the door or tie them up or injure them, according to the lieutenant.
The robbers then made off with a large amount of electronics and cash and the lieutenant said they must have had a getaway car, but a description of it was not immediately available.
"There was too much merchandise to just walk out,'' the lieutenant said.
The employees called 911 and police went to the scene to investigate.
No one was in custody early Sunday afternoon and the lieutenant said no similar robberies have happened at the establishment within the last month.
Grand Central Area are investigating.
