Countdown At Wrigley
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Work continues at a feverish pace to get Wrigley Field ready for the opening night crowd of the 2016 season on Monday night when the Cubs host the Reds.
WBBM's Bob Roberts paid a visit Saturday to the Friendly Confines.
At Sheffield and Waveland, workers were busy setting up the concession stand inside the bleacher entrance. On Addison, water poured from a new gutter to the street below as workers with a forklift moved the concrete barriers back to the curb.
At all entrances, magnetometers were being installed, part of enhanced security screening.
The Ernie Banks statue had yet to be installed.
The Chicago Cubs have been doing extensive renovations to the historic ballpark, as well as realizing plans to redevelop nearby property.
