CHICAGO (CBS) -- Governor Quinn still isn't saying whether he'll sign the medical marijuana bill, reports WBBM's Veronica Carter.
Quinn Says He Will Be Open Minded On Medical Marijuana Bill
The senate approved it this week but Quinn says he still hasn't seen it. He says he'll be open minded about it.
"I think it is important to review every bill that arrives at my desk. I did that with a bill that we just signed. We try to expedite legislation as quickly as we can. It hasn't arrived yet. When it does, we will act promptly.
It would create a four year pilot program that would allow doctors to prescribe patients with one of 42 serious or chronic conditions up to 2.5 ounces of pot every two weeks.
Quinn says he's talked to veterans who say they need it to ease pain.
