Quinn had what he has called a "massive backlog" of more than 2,500 cases that built up under since-deposed Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Since Quinn took office in January 2009, he has acted on 895 petitions. He has granted 371 and denied 524.

Quinn has granted 362 pardons, and has authorized eight people who had already received pardons to seek expungement of their convictions. He has also granted one commutation.

The 85 petitions on which Quinn acted Thursday date back to the January 2004 court docket.
