Quinn, Lawmakers Discuss Economy; Casinos Don't Come Up
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Gov. Pat Quinn and top Illinois lawmakers talked about jobs at their latest high-level meeting Tuesday.
As WBBM Newsradio Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports, Quinn and the four legislative leaders say they discussed possible tax relief for Chicago's major financial exchanges, and a jobs package to help revive the economy.

But they say they did not discuss legislation to expand casino gambling, something that Mayor Rahm Emanuel is strongly backing.
Speaking before the meeting, Quinn said they did not plan to talk about casinos.
"The subject is more about economic growth and jobs. That's really our focus," he said. "I think if we want to help people right now, the No. 1 priority is economic development and jobs."
The top lawmakers and Quinn plan to get back together in the Loop on Thursday.
Quinn said late last month that he would veto a gambling bill approved by the General Assembly. He objects to the provision slot machines at racetracks, as well as O'Hare and Midway international airports and the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
The bill also calls for five new land-based casinos, including one within the Chicago city limits.
