Quinn: Kids Come Before Superintendents
CHICAGO (WBBM) - Governor Pat Quinn says the only way he see's regional school superintendents getting paid is at the local level
Illinois' 44 regional school superintendents have been working without pay since July 1st. The group has since filed a lawsuit. Governor Quinn believes the problem can be worked out but he stressed that the kids in the classroom come first.

The president of the Superintendent's Association called the Governor's action unfair, and stressed that they didn't want to file the lawsuit, but felt they had no other choice.
The Governor cut the money that would have been used to pay the group from the state budget. The lawsuit contends that other money in the State Board of Education can be used to pay the salaries.
