Quinn, Emanuel To Discuss Particulars Of Proposed Chicago Casino
CHICAGO (CBS/WBBM) – Gov. Pat Quinn and Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Friday moved closer to agreeing on a concept for a Chicago casino.
Quinn, however, cautioned lawmakers against tacking on all kinds of gambling expansions if they approve a gaming center for the Windy City. A vote could as soon as next week in Springfield.

"What came out of the Senate last year was way too much. We're not going to be the Las Vegas of the Midwest," Quinn told reporters.
As for a Chicago casino, Quinn says it's worth discussing "if it's properly framed."
The next issue, the Democratic governor said, is how to divide up gaming proceeds – a discussion he expected to have with Emanuel next week.
Quinn wants at least some of the revenue to go to education. Emanuel wants money to help balance future city budgets, which according to an executive order he signed Friday, will soon be more transparent.
Emanuel signed an executive order late this afternoon, directing his budget office and the city council committee to prepare an annual financial analysis of city finances. It would include three-year projections of city revenues and expenses, something which has never been done before.
