'Quick Change Bandit' Suspected In 5th Bank Robbery
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A serial bank robber dubbed the "Quick Change Bandit" has struck his fifth Chicago bank, authorities said Tuesday.
The FBI said the suspect got his nickname because it is believed he leaves a bag of clothes just outside the bank before a robbery, then uses it to quickly change clothes afterward.
The most recent robbery took place Saturday at the First American Bank branch at 4501 S. Pulaski, according to the FBI. The same suspect is also beleived to have robbed four other bank branches:
• MB Financial Bank at 1 S. Wacker Dr. on Dec. 31, 2009;
• Fifth/Third Bank at 1 S. Dearborn on March 26, 2010;
• North Community Bank at 448 N. Wells St. on July 3, 2010; and
• Charter One Bank at 4037 N. Lincoln Ave. on Oct. 7, 2010.
The suspect is described as a black man in his early 40s, about 6-foot-1 and wearing sunglasses and a ski mask. He carried a black bag with handles and displayed a handgun during the robberies.
