Murder of Jordan's father brought into question after lab errors
RALEIGH, N.C. -- The man convicted of murdering Michael Jordan's father has for nearly two decades insisted he wasn't the killer.
Now the physical evidence used against Daniel Andre Green is the subject of scrutiny again.
Green's case is one of about 200 investigations mishandled by the state's crime lab over a 16-year period. A review of those cases released this week led state prosecutors to request a more detailed review of all the cases.
An attorney for Green said they will look closely at the SBI report, which concluded that an analyst misreported evidence found in James Jordan's vehicle. Green's past defense attorneys had complained that the physical evidence used against him was weak.
Defense attorneys have previously admitted that Green helped dispose of Jordan's body and drove Jordan's car.
