Quenneville Recovering In Hospital
UPDATED 02/17/11 8:03 a.m.
Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville was sent to the emergency room Tuesday night after experiencing what is described as severe discomfort while at his suburban Chicago home.
On Wednesday, the Blackhawks only said in a statement that the "undisclosed health concern" was "not of a cardiac nature."
Assistant coach Mike Haviland filled in as "acting head coach" for Wednesday night's game against the Minnesota Wild.
"We're all professionals," Haviland said. "We can move forward. I mean, our thoughts are for sure with him and his wife and his kids. But certainly these guys are professionals and we know what's at hand here."
Although without Quenneville, the Blackhawks thrived against the Wild Wednesday night.
