Quenneville: Goaltending Has Been Key To Success
(WSCR) The Blackhawks' remarkable, record-setting start can be attributed to many different factors.
One of which that simply can't be ignored is the play of goalies Corey Crawford and Ray Emery. Together, the duo has propelled the Blackhawks to a clip of 16-0-3, breaking the record for most games with a point to start a season.
"Our goaltending has been a real key for us," head coach Joel Quenneville told The Mully and Hanley Show. "The consistency of the goaltending situations have been very good for us. I think that's really where the guys have been feeding off, as well. It's been a very healthy situation where we're very pleased."

Crawford has compiled a record of 8-0-3 with a .941 save percentage and two shutouts. Emery, on the other hand, is a perfect 8-0-0 with a .927 save percentage.
Still, this unprecedented streak can be attributed to more than just the goalies.
"You could talk about every single guy," Quenneville said. "They've (all) had some real good stretches. It seems like they're playing their best hockey. ... Most nights were getting huge contributions across the board. Our top guys have been leading the way"
